Our commitment

The Bergen County Clerk's Office is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and related Section 508 expectations for public-facing digital services.

We design and build the site with accessibility in mind, including:

Known limitations

We continuously improve accessibility. Known or possible limitations include third-party PDFs that are not fully tagged, complex data tables in older documents, and third-party widgets whose accessibility is controlled by the vendor. We prioritize remediating barriers reported by the public and found in audits.

We aim to acknowledge reports and resolve issues according to severity. Typical targets are: blockers — same-day first response and resolution within 5 business days; major issues — 1 business day first response and resolution within 15 business days; minor issues — 5 business days first response and resolution within 60 days.

Audit cadence

Accessibility is verified before major public launches and through ongoing testing. We plan a pre-launch external accessibility review and annual external audits thereafter, supplemented by automated checks and manual testing during development.

Analytics and privacy on this site

This website does not use advertising trackers or sell visitor data. Operational analytics, when enabled, use anonymized or aggregated measures (for example, approximate geography and device class). Search queries may be logged without IP address, session identifier, or user-agent for service improvement.
