Become a Notary Public
If you are a Bergen County resident, once you receive your Notary Public Commission from Trenton you must visit our office within three months of the date listed on the Commission Certificate. A counter clerk will administer your oath, and you will be sworn in which completes the process of becoming a notary public. There is a $15 processing fee payable to the Bergen County Clerk by check, money order, or debit/credit card.
For more information, review the State’s Notary Public Manual and watch their series of Notary Public Manual Training Videos.
Sometimes your documents require additional authentication steps such as a County Clerk Certificate, or a State Apostille. County Clerk Certificates are issued at our office. Apostille Certificates are issued by the NJ Division of Treasury.
